Scott launches attack...

Below is the entire transcript of today's press conference:

Good morning. Let me start by apologising for the short notice and thank you all for attending.

Over the course of the last season and through the beginning of this current season, I have had to take a lot of criticism regarding my game attire. Whether it be a lack of or unsupported articles and/or paraphernalia, I have disregarded this criticism as voices of jealousy from people who are too afraid to be seen as individuals.

The latest survey that has been placed on the Diamond Cutters web site adds further salt to the wound. This I see as a personal attack at me for motives I am unsure of. These people hide behind their screens, thinking that they can influence their opinion on the general public, all the while cowering behind the shadows of the Diamond Cutters Basketball Club's hierarchy who seem unwilling to assist my people with finding, and exposing these instigators who are doing unimaginable damage to my reputation.

The joy that should have accompanied the launch of the much anticipated Diamond Cutters forum has also been dampened with threads already attacking myself and my style. I can only suspect that this was done by an individual from within the club. This display emphasises the aggression and un-professionalism that is rampant within this administration that is dragging my reputation through the mud.

I am also regretfully forced to point a finger at my 'team mates', who have lacked the courage and loyalty to defend my stance and have coward behind these two words, "No comment". This lack of support did come as a surprise considering the efforts they went to, to ensure the sponsorship deal regarding my footwear succeeded. They have turned their backs on me and unless they show their complete support for my cause, my future here as a Diamond Cutter will be cut short.

I understand that there may be some backlash from the fans that may consider this statement as being selfish and that I am not looking out for the best interest for the club. I am willing to cop this. If I do not make a stand now then another situation similar to this could consume another player who goes against the crowd and is willing to stand up for their beliefs.

I ask for the support of the Diamond Cutters fan base to eradicate this virus that is spreading the league before the reputation of Monday Night Basketball is humiliated into extinction. We must protect the rights of the individual players and stop with the persecution of those who stand by their convictions.

Express your thoughts directly to the club through e-mails, telephone or even if you pass a club official in the street. Unite on the Diamond Cutters forum, let them know that this injustice will not be tolerated. Speak up, numbers can make a difference. Communicate to them that their actions invade the freedoms of the individual. Together we can eradicate this poison and once again lift both the Diamond Cutters and the Mars League back to its rightful position as the dominate forces in Australian sport.

Thank you.' Now is the time for you to have your say:
