The Diamond
Cutters are unstoppable.
Armed with barely
five players, the team in disarray after Dave's horrendous bike
accident(we all hope he recovers quickly) and Tim and Kep's
holidays, the left-overs and Kroon (the Cutters favourite son)
managed to overcome the foul-calling umps and a resiliant Redbacks
team to win 44-25.
The news of
David's unfortunable happening arrived 30 minutes before tip-off,
but a shell-shocked Cutters outfit was comforted by the fact that
the fan-favourite and British pin-up will be back before long,
suffering only heavy bruising.
As per usual, The
Ben & Wong Show led all proceedings, slowly warming up into 16
points for 'Benji', and 13 for Wong ('Needsnewshoes'), with Ben
again the MVP.
In the wake of
last-week's no show (the Cutters scaring opposition into submission
even before the game had even started), Scott was stirred by the
emotional tribute with every player donning the shirt-under jersey
idea, and this week repayed the favour collecting 7 points and was a
fortress under the Redback's goal.
Yochem had 6,
while 'Quick-draw McKroon' totalled 2, on a sweet reverse flip-shot
high off the backboard.
On Monday 22nd of
July, the Diamond Cutters hope to extend their unbeaten season by
beating the P Funk Allstars at 6:45pm.
