The second team returned last night,
and the Cutters favourite son was back in the spotlight again, Kroon
leading the Cutters with 15 points in a hardfought win over
arch-rivals the Hubs.
In what was relatively close match, the
Cutters proved they could still beat anybody, even without the two
superstars which grace their play nearly every game.
This time MK stepped up, with all the
flair of the World Cup, even taking dives much to everyone's
delight. Yochem 'Poetry In Motion' van Leeuwen realised some form
which had escaped him lately, knocking down 10 points. Kepler 'How's
the air up there?' Schumann banked 2, Tim 'Big Boards'
Vanderbom lit up for 1, and David 'the Character Builder'
Levene ripped for 1 point.
Pappadum, the enigmatic, was fouled out
early, and Shaggy Derro followed half an hour later, leaving only
Stix and the Accountant and several other miscellaneous characters
to defend the Hubs pride. The Cutters eventually took hold of the
game as they had always threatened they would, continuing their
unbeaten streak to now 10 wins and 1 draw, from 11 games. Check
the website for the complete ladder.
In what was a hotly contested issue in
the last Internet Poll, the voting finally swayed
in the favour of Scott taking his t-shirt from under his jersey. In
his defence in the forum during the week, Scott
pointed to soccer players continuing in his trend, though they
always point to some special print or writing on it once they score
a goal. Have your say on the forum. Scott is again
under fire in this weeks poll. Visit the website
and vote on what improvements the big guy can make to his drab
attire.
