Cutters humble Stojkovic
The Cutters on
Monday threw the league a warning of what is to come from this class
outfit this season, by annihilating the stjupid (according to one
newspaper) Stojkavic. Lessons learned by the newcomers in their
first outing were that:
- The Cutters
aren’t going to be taken for granted no more
- You can’t beat
DC sitting down
- If you
seriously want to win the championship, first you have to get
past the Cutters
- DC t-shirts
are still available to order, at RRP $30, for either
design.
Though Stojkovic
showed signs of being the best team ever to play against the
Cutters, the return of superstar J-Wong and the stellar team
performance of the Cutters boys saw to it that the opposition could
only manage seven points, and these seven points coming out of the
Cutters charitable hearts.
Scotty ‘Smooth’ de
Bruyn was one point off a career night, scoring 21 points in his MVP
performance, whilst the supporting cast of Hot Rod Yochem (12
points), Fergie (11 points), Wong (10 points), Tim (6 points) and
KS8 (5 points) combined strongly as one unit.
Their stoic
performance came on the back of the Cutters first ever full-team
practice (bar Da-pff of-course who is still in Borneo with the
Orang-utans). Hopefully we will see more of these practices which
include autograph signings in the coming season as the DC aim for
the rings.
The debut of the
new uniforms proved a marvellous success, bar the blow-hole logo
still being repositioned on some players uniforms. You can see the
new uniforms again next Monday as the Cutters take on the P Funk
Allstars at 7:30 pm.
