Yochem awarded
keys to city
The ever
humble, gracious either in winning or defeat, MVP of last season for
the Cutters Yochem 'the enigma' accepted the keys to the city
today.
Adelaide Lord
Mayor Sir Alfred Huang and Premier John Olsen were at the ceremony,
with the Lord Mayor presenting the keys to the City of Adelaide for
his efforts in the field of basketball and peacemaking "You have,
through the Diamond Cutters, lifted our spirits in this time of
need."
The always
modest Yochem accepted the award, coiling the set of keys onto his
keyring. However, he declared he could not take all the credit
alone, as without his hard working teammates his efforts would mean
nothing.
"Whatever
credit I'm given, I owe to my teammates. I could not have done it
without them. These are my people, I love 'em; we're all equal on
this team and any award given to one of us is a reflection on us
all."
At the party
after the event, teammate David Le Vene looked a bit off cue, before
blurting out to the festive crowd, much to their bewilderment, "The
Internet is dead! Long live the Amstrad Cassette PC!" Who knows what
he really meant by that but we can be assured David will have that
same revolutionary spirit come 8:15pm Monday.
Look out Booyah!
P.S. Go Cutters!
