Official news service of the DIAMOND CUTTERS
Basketball Club
In Cutters off-season news this
week, Kep is released from the detox centre, we have a look at what
went on when the DC boys guest starred on the Oprah Show last week,
and news of new uniforms sends Dave wild and off to
Borneo.
First up, Kep, who was
admitted into a detox centre after last season for continuous
substance abuse (including cocaine and heroin), has been released
this week pending good behaviour. This move was seen by the Cutters
as a good one, with Notorious K.E.P. now hopefully on the right
track with more time to concentrate on his game and perhaps
now-lengthy Cutters career.
The 2002 Winter range of
Cutters merchandise was officially released yesterday, revealing a
brand schpankin’ new uniform headlining the new DC wear. The uniform
has a base colour of navy, with white panels down the side and red
trimmings, however the major feature of the uniforms is their extra
short length never seen before in Australian basketball, and the
wide shoulders. Critics praised the designer’s efforts, declaring
the uniforms "cutting edge, inspiring fashions, and typically DC
sleek." A number of your favourite Cutters will be sporting new
numbers next season to keep with their dynamic image. The uniforms
will be worn in the first game of the winter season, soon to be
announced.
News of the new uniforms
and particularly their cost and amount of style sent DC’s own Dave
to wild Borneo, off on a soul-searching journey in the thick and
steamy jungles to find himself. I’m sure I speak on behalf of us all
when I wish him sincerely the best of luck. DC’s GM assures us
"We’ll get him (the uniform money) when he gets back."
As most of you are already
aware, the DC team made an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show last
week as public opinion of the Cutters spirals out of control. Most
Cutters (bar those little kids Kep growls at) are now continuously
hounded for autographs everywhere they go. To purchase a copy of the
show, contact either Oprah or the Cutters. A few stills from the are
pictured
