The Diamond Cutters went down again on Monday night, this
time to Wake Forest. However, they did not go down without a fight,
in the end losing a thriller by only two points, 28-26. Brilliant
team work and defensive intensity put the Cutters in a position to
win the match, but a few costly errors meant the didn't come away
with the W. Invaluable efforts were made by 'the Chairman of the
Boards' Vanderbom who also blocked the stuffing out of the
opposition, as well as 'the Answer' Kepler keeping them in the game
with two big threes and twelve points in total, and of course,
'Money' (Yochem) chipped in with eight points. Scotty and Dave also
made invaluable contributions. Such a great game was made possible
with the unexpected illness of turnover leader Michael, leading to a
team performance not seen for a fair while. Strong fan support was a
great help in keeping the Cutters focussed.
