The overconfident, over-Krooned and undermanned Diamond
Cutters suffered a disheartening loss against a team usually no
match for them, due in part to a poor offensive structure and good
defence by the Stags, who took the game 27-15. A very poor turnout
from fans did not help the cause. Cutters management were left to
question both the commitment of the fans as well as of star centre
Tim, who was absent due to other "priorities". This follows his
controversial walkout last season, and wavering performances and
effort at practices. The game looked in jeopardy from the outset,
with Mike off and firing in typical Krooniculous fashion. Strong
performances from the big ticket Yochem, as well as Dave and Scott,
could not stop the umpires and Stags from running away with the
game. Those in charge of marketing at the Diamond Cutters seem
to have their work cut out as they question why the fans are not
behind them all the way, and seem to give up whenever the team
encounters some hardships along the way. They are questioning and
criticising the league for the extremely steep entrance fees,
putting the game out of reach of many citizens. Your support is
urgently needed, and we'll keep you updated on further advancements
in this area.
