Cutters vs. Hubs
Stix vs. the In‘Tim’idator, Shaggy Derro vs. Too
Short, Scott vs. Poppadom. It’s what the crowd comes to see. And
Monday night the crowd were not disappointed as the Cutters beat
down their fierce rivals yet again, in a masterful display of both O
and D despite the absence of All-Mars Starting Five duo Jason Wong
and Ben Ferguson, and of course fan favourite David LeVene.
Taking their spots this week were hyped-about
streetballers Josh Greenwood and Robert Fischer. Their hustle play
and full-court defence pounded Poppas into submission, never
allowing the Hubs to find any rhythm, while also working the Cutters
O.
Despite Kepler turning down (or bumbling attempts
at – depending on who you talk to) five stunning beauties and
passionate fans at the beach while jet skiing around Glenelg in a
mink during the first heatwave of the summer only hours before the
game, he was still able to function properly for the match. Asked
about the incident, Kepler replied “You think I got time to do all
these shows, to do all I does?” Casual team-mate Michael Kroon was
at the scene, and declared he’d rather die than turn down any of
those girls, and would also rather one of the girls than one million
dollars.
Back to the game, while every player played good,
they were not supercalifragalistic, as the team only totalled 29
points. The MVP battle was a hard-fought one, with Josh’s (2 points)
constant hustle probably edging Robert (7 points), Scott (10 points)
and Johan (4 points). Tim and Kep had 3 points each.
The Cutters now face a two-week holiday period
break. The Cutters would like to thank all for their support during
the year, in helping the Cutters bring home the trophy, and would
like to wish all a very merry Christmas and a joyous new year.
