DIAMOND CUTTERS 34, Wake Forest 49

Shock loss stuns Cutters

An undermanned Cutters line up was on the receiving end of a decisive loss handed to them on a gold platter by arch-nemesis Wake Forest. The Cutters went into the game with a nine-month winning streak against an opponent whom they were previously unable to conquer.

Johan "Working class man" Van Leeuwen and Kepler "a = x * y / a - 2b" Schumann were unable to play due to unbreakable promotional commitments and were replaced in the line-up by big man Stephen Cooper and former Cutter Michael Kroon who returned to play a one off game since leaving the team over a pay dispute.

Ben popped a hard fought for 12 points, Scott 7 and 5 apiece for Tim, Michael, and Stephen while David was held scoreless. No real stand out performances however Ben’s steady and consistent scoring and defensive efforts wins him this weeks MVP.

The game looked to become a blow out early with Wake Forest nearly reaching double figures before the Cutters men were able to put a single score on the board. A late surge by the Cutters kept the final score respectable but showed the dominance of Wake Forest, especially number 22 who hit a team high 30 points.

The Cutters hope to amend this shock loss with a win against "Lob-it-long" Tranmere this coming Monday.

Note:

Apologies for the lateness of this weeks update, the ever increasing popularity of the Cutters merchandise in the lead up to Christmas has all staff working double shifts to meet customer demands. Diamond Cutters management are still hiring so for more details head to:
